Dossier
Sir Rupert Nkosana, just twelve years old, is a young introverted African elephant of shy disposition with a cuddly, coltish charm, forever caught mid-smile as though someone has just told him a secret. Born in Zimbabwe, he is the son of Lord George Nkosana, and by his father's remarriage, stepson to Lady Isobel Nkosana. Though still small enough to be overlooked in a crowded ballroom, those who do notice him rarely forget the sight of the young elephant. If you do manage to find him, he is often found with a butterfly net in hand, patrolling the school playground on a mission to catalogue all of the beautiful butterflies, the task of which he takes very seriously.
Painfully shy and often slow to make friends, Rupert nonetheless carries a rare tenderness for something small and easily missed: he catches butterflies with great patience and care, and just as carefully lets every single one go. Kindness comes naturally to him, company does not. He wants, more than anything, to spend his days chasing butterflies across the playground, and fears, quietly and constantly, that he will never quite manage to make a friend.
What the registry does not record: Sir Rupert adores travelling with his stepmother, Lady Isobel, and privately treasures every mile of it, though he has never once told her that he finds her jokes rather dreadful. He laughs along anyway, every time, purely to see her kind smile.
Son to: Lord George Nkosana · Stepson to: Lady Isobel Nkosana.
