Miss Lieze Spencer is an inquisitive young soul. At the tender age of just eleven, she often feels like the most mature person in a room, even when surrounded by Wovrn's most scholarly minds. Never short of a word, or two, or three, Miss Lieze enjoys hypothesising about complex philosophical questions, though it is the investigation to prove or disprove a thesis that she enjoys the most. She certainly inherited her mother's ear, her acute sense of sound sharp enough to trace a piano out of tune by a single semitone, and it is this unique gift that lets her see the whole world as though it were dancing to some hidden song, finding a rhythm to all things, however small or large. Having graduated school at the age of ten, a full eight years ahead of her time, Miss Lieze now studies at the Paris Imperium College of TGE (The home to The Guild of Everything), the academic entry point to becoming a Polymath at the Guild of Everything, where she spends most of her days. When she is not at the University, she is rarely home for long, forever off on some new adventure across the world.
Miss Lieze finds a rhythm to everything in life. When she enters a room, or steps foot in a new land, she takes a moment to feel the rhythm around her, and once her mind adjusts to work with it, she becomes something close to an unstoppable force. It is this same gift, though, that makes her appear chaotic to those who cannot follow it, a whirlwind personality that no one quite doubts the intelligence of, even if no one quite understands how she works. Talkative to a fault, endlessly curious, and delighted equally by mathematics, physics, and the sound of things most people never think to listen for, she finds elephants unaccountably, hopelessly cute, and spends much of her time under the mentorship of the Guild of Everything. She wants, quite plainly, to become the youngest ever Guild's Vice-Chancellor before she turns twenty, and finds herself caught in a small, private contradiction that troubles her more than any thesis: she fears that Sir Rupert Nkosana will discover her feelings for him, and, in the same breath, fears just as much that he never will.
Miss Lieze has a soft spot for Sir Rupert Nkosana. She finds elephants incredibly cute, and the delicate, gentle nature of Sir Rupert has a calming effect on her otherwise whirlwind lifestyle. She dare not tell him, nor another living soul, for fear of embarrassment, though she does often find herself on expeditions to Africa where she tends to "bump into" Sir Rupert, purely by accident, of course.
