Dossier
A descendant of one of the most powerful families to have ever existed within Wovrn, Lady Isobel Nkosana traces her lineage back to Wovrn royalty, her great-grandmother having reigned as Queen for one hundred and eleven years. At just five months old, Lady Isobel was orphaned when her parents were lost crossing the Arabian Sea in a storm, returning from a successful trade negotiation that had secured global distribution rights for spices and pulses. Upon their passing, the company passed to her in its entirety, yet a technicality in the will, her species having gone unrecorded before her "Reveal," left the document incomplete, and the estate has sat locked in a bitter legal battle with the Americas Trust Bank ever since, a dispute now spanning thirty-two years. From a humble start amid that unresolved inheritance, Lady Isobel has nonetheless built a small empire of global trade, chiefly in textiles and coffee.
Lady Isobel's public persona, caring, laughing, joyful, should never be mistaken for softness in commercial matters. In the boardroom she is ruthless, firm but fair, always ensuring that those earning the least benefit the most from her deals, a principle that has made her deeply unpopular among the global financiers and business elite even as every one of them privately respects what she has built. Beyond business, her devotion belongs to family, and above all to her stepson Rupert, whom she adores without reservation.
Lady Isobel has left half her wealth to her stepson Rupert for when she passes, and the other half to the Poor of Africa Foundation her late parents established some fifty years ago, a decision known to no one but her lawyer.
